ROUTINE DAILY CAR INSPECTION.

Before Starting Out:-

PETROL Refill tank
RADIATOR Inspect water level and replenish if necessary.
TYRES Note appearance and test pressure if any tyre appears flatter than usual.
CLUTCH Test action.
UNDER BONNET. Inspect for any signs of water leakage at pipe joints as indicated by a rusty deposit.

BRAKES Test (see pages 18 & 21).
HORN Test action
SPEEDOMETER Set trip
CLOCK Wind and set
DOORS Test action
WINDOWS Test action
NUMBER PLATES Clean
LAMPS Clean and focus before going out at night.

Whilst Driving:-
DYNAMO Note charging (see page 27) 		OIL Note pump action (see page 9).

After Using Car:-

OIL Inspect level in engine base and replenish, if necessary, whilst warm, with Daimler engine oil.
TYRES Note appearance for pressure and inspect for nails and cuts.
WHEELS Tighten hub caps if necessary.
BODY Wash (N.B.:- Cover up the petrol tank filler cap)

 

SPECIAL POINTS FOR ATTENTION ON A NEW CAR

WHEELS Shake road wheels to test tightness on hub every day for the first month.
ENGINE Drain base-chamber, wash out with paraffin, and refill with Daimler engine oil after a fortnight
GEAR-BOX Drain, wash out with paraffin, and refill with Daimler heavy gear oil after one month
BACK AXLE Drain, wash out with paraffin, and refill with Daimler heavy gear oil after a fortnight
